receives the IR signal from the remote control of the appliance, after the signal is received it is demodulates and amplifies by the internal circuitry of the IR sensor. The TSOP1738 gives high signal (Positive Output) in the normal conditions (When IR is not detected) and gives low signal (Negative Output) when IR is detected. Therefore when it receives the IR signal the LED will become activated and in opposite conditions when the sensor does not detect the IR signal the LED will remains off or deactivated.
