range with different cell phones, it has detected some mobile phones from 4 to 5 meters radius and some from 10 to 12 meter radius. The circuit is also a good battery energy saver, it will draws only 400uA in standby condition due to which a 9V battery will last longer.

The heart of the circuit is a LM358 IC, LM358 is a operational amplifier IC. It contains 2 separate operational amplifiers in one package. In this circuit we have used both the internal amplifiers for better sensitivity. An NPN transistor is connected at the output of the circuit to drive the peizo buzzer and the LED. The circuit is using two 1N34 germanium diodes at the input, any similar germanium diodes will work here. The sensitivity of the circuit can be adjusted with 100K variable resistor.
